This
1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SL is White with a Cognac Interior, Brown
Convertible Top, and White Hard Top. It is a rare 1971 with Factory
4-Speed manual, Factory air-conditioning, and kinderseat. The previous
owner purchased the car 12 years ago, and it had been restored prior
to his purchase. The car was recently serviced at a cost of $6,000
by one of the finest restoration facilities on the east coast including
a new exhaust system, complete tune up, and fuel-injection system
service. After we purchased the car it was driven from the garage
in Connecticut to our gallery in New York City without incident
and it performed very well. Cosmetically the car would be best described
as a "driver" quality car. The Cognac Interior and convertible
top are like new. The chrome and wood are in very good condition.
The paint is in very good condition with some slight imperfections
as a result of its use over the past 10 years. The original radio
and owner's manual come with the car. A very nice driver level car
with recent mechanical service and the driving dynamics of the 4-speed
manual transmission make this a wonderful opportunity for anyone
in the market for a fun and rare 280SL at an attractive and appropriate
price. |
